The music for the film was released on 2 December 2006 and has seven songs composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy with lyrics by Sameer.
The music was generally approved of by Rediff.com as "awesome".[1]
The film, however, garnered a tepid response from the critics. Film critic Taran Adarsh called "a disjointed script, abstract style of narrating the story and excessive length" as the film's main deficiencies.[2] Rediff.com's Sukanya Verma called it "an ode to mediocrity, not love or cinema".[3] However, Poonam Joshi of Channel 4 praised the film for its "clever storytelling, parody and brazen wit".[4] The film received a 1.5-star rating from IndiaFM[2] and a 4-star rating from Channel 4.[4] The film was declared a flop in India although it was a hit overseas.
Though the film suffered from poor reviews, it performed well at the box office, earning approximately US $1,000,009 in the United States alone, grossing £349,000 in the U.K. and approximately 850,000 Australian dollars in Australia.
